With dinner (rack of lamb), a 2003 Two Hands Max's Garden Shiraz. Very nice (somewhere in the 90-92 point range) but certainly not the best of the "Garden" series of wines from Two Hands (Bella's Garden is by far my favorite).

Am contemplating opening a 1998 Oliver's Taranga Shiraz for later tonight and, if any's left, tomorrow night.

2005 Coudoulet de Beaucastel (excellent after an hour or so in the decanter)

2005

I bought a case of this based on my consultants recommendation, and I agree that this is phenomenal QPR (with the decanting). It's my go-to house red for the next while.

Nice to hear the Coudoulet is back on track in 2005.
Had the real good 2000 vintage, but the following years didn't impress me much.

2003 Neal Family Cabernet Sauvignon. Tasting note posted.

Also had a 2005 Cervaro last night. Good as always.

Last night, at a party:

2005 Ch. D'Arche Sauternes (floral nose, nice acidity, almonds, clean flavors, great finish 91pts)
2005 Ch. Filhot Sauternes (lovely nose, much sweeter than the D'Arche, nice stone fruits, shortish finish 88pts, with upside)

Yup, I agree that the 2005 Coudoulet is great stuff. A bottle of 2001 that I had about 6 months ago was still drinking beautifully, and I would say completely mature.
