2004 Bruno Porro Piemonte Barbera - definitely a good buy. Rose petals and a touch of tar on the nose with red fruit and earthiness on the palate. Medium body with a nice acidity.

2003 Greenock Creek Alice's Shiraz. It's no secret that I'm a big Aussie Shiraz fan and this is one of my favorites.

Original TN/score (94) on Cellar Tracker is the same with this bottle as it was with previous bottles...

"Decanted for 2-2.5 hours prior to drinking and it could have definitely used more air time (5+ hours). This is a young, massive wine (16+% alcohol) that needs LOTS of decanting/air time. However, like all the Greenock Creek wines (can they make a bad wine? I think not!), even with less-than-optimal decanting and/or cellar time, it's so approachable and eminently drinkable right now. Dark fruit, smoke, tobacco, coffee/espresso, and a bit of mineral on nose. Finish is stunningly looooooooooooooong, very powerful, and, though a bit hot, still quite smooth and satiny. A superbly made wine that, with additional cellaring (5+ years), will reach its peak and, in my personal ratings, will easily reach the high 90's and rank among my all-time favorites."

Me too! It's a rare and peaceful "time for myself" period here so I decided to crack open something nice.

I still have to sell some of my collection but since I have SO MANY Shiraz on hand, it's not going to make much of a dent if I enjoy some once in awhile.

Enjoy your Chard!
