2001 Kracher TBA #6 (this was a super bottle and blew away the Tour Blanche imo)
2003 Chateau La Tour Blanche

were you secretly writing these down!? Wink
You couldn't possibly have mentally logged all of those after this night! Eek

Well I did think the Jadot was a Puligny-Montrachet at first, hence the edited post. Smile

1997 Fox Creek Shiraz Reserve - Even better than I thought it would be. Intoxicating nose of dark fruit, oak, smoke, and some floral notes as well... the kind of wine you want to smell over and over. Well balanced with dark fruit, spice, and a tad of licorice on the palate. Long finish. A solid 93 points

1998 JJ Hahn "1914 Block" - As much as I like most-to-all Aussie Shiraz, even the "chunky/chewy" ones ones quite often, this was a disappointment... it was like drinking cough syrup. Too over-the-top syrupy sweet, prune-like, and hot... really hot (the alcohol content is listed at 14.5%, which surprise me; I would have bet it was 16+%). 84 points

With friends, dinner (grilled tenderloin), cigars, chocolate, and politically incorrect conversation:

2000 Jean Boillot & Fils Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchere.--Excellent
1989 Leoville Las Cases--Still a little tight
2001 Haut Bergey Rouge P-L--leftover from last night, really good
1997 Silver Oak Alexander Valley--Elegant, drink now before it fades any more.
2002 Justin Isosceles--Maybe wine of the night for me? Very close call.
2000 Bois de Boursin CdP Cuvee des Felix--Aromatically wine of the night by a longshot; I could just sit and smell this wine for hours and be happy.
1997 Signorello Estate Cabernet Sauv.--solid.

It was actually better than I expected at this age, opened up nicely after a few hour decant. Showed lots of tobacco, earth, cassis and some dark fruit and spices. Should get better too. I have a case and wanted to see how it was doing with a nice rib eye last night.

Actually Indybob, I didn't have any from this particular bottle, but I have had it in the past, and it is what it is. This bottle was given to the neighbors who absolutely love it. KFed and MDog were out partying with us "On the Bistro," and he asked, "Hey man, ya got any of that Chuckie Shaw sauv blanc?" LOL! And for them, I always have a bottle in my mini fridge in the basement. LOL. -mJ
