…you’re tasting wine with a few family members (who are not wine geeks they are merely having a glass) and you’re swirling, smelling, tasting, and you begin to describe the fruit and other nuances in the wine and then your brother in-law looks at you and says, “Dude…you’re gay!”

All true,

And none of your friends and relatives will buy wine for you anymore, for fear it is not exactly right.

When you always seem to notice a retailer or website posted the wrong score, or uses an older review of the wine.

Oh thank goodness when that happens. My good friends show up for dinner now and bring craft beers or fresh produce--they finally have gotten smart enough NOT to bring wine.

You know you are a wine geek when you have more decanters (regular, duck shaped, magnum, etc) than most people have coffee cups in their house

When you cruise past the "wine bar" at the local airport, glance at the wine by-the-glass list on display, and feel sorry for the patrons who are sipping their glass of swill.

You bring your Riedel's when camping. I much prefer being called a geek than a snob. I've never been called gay, not that there's anything wrong with that.

When your throwing away your empty wine bottles at the local recycle center and are looking into the 20' dumpster while doing so to see what others in the town have been drinking, only to be disappointed to see just bulk/cheap bottles of wines scattered about.

When you find yourself giving wine glasses as gifts to your good friends so you won't have to drink out of some crappy glasses when you visit the following time.

It's only 2 miles or so from the house, so I go when the bottles pile up (about once every other week. Wink

When you look at the clock and it's only 9am and you are thinking about what wine to have tonight (or maybe today as it is the weekend after all).

Do you have to take ALL of your recyclable items to a center?
