This could end all your woes. I read this morning in the Detroit Free Press that the "Bartman" baseball is going to be blown up tonight at Harry Caray's restaurant. To be televised tonight @ 8:00 p.m. on MSNBC.

Cheers to GrapeFriends!

Poor guy. He WAS offered a lifetime ticket to all Marlins games plus received a ton of job opportunities down here. He'd also be an instant celeb if he moved.

What the hell is he still doing in Chicago??!! Big Grin

Yes, here's a link...

We've finally spent some of the Tribune money...Maddux! Smile And for the Tribune to part with money, that's hard to do.
Rumor has it that some of the games may be "pay per view." Frown
Whats the odds in Vegas for the Cubs going all the way this season?

Seems a shame to destroy something that cost over 100K-

I am all for it if it gets the Cubs to the Series.

that truly was a beautiful moment. Not that I'm against the Cubs, but such a pinnacle of faux pas televised for the world......then replayed 50 times, there was a morbid beauty to it. If I were Bart, I'd have sold the ball then moved to Florida and ask Huizenga to make good on some of his offers.

I hope my next statement, tangentially related, doesn't really upset anyone, but I truly believe it: Cubs won't win a WS with Baker at the helm. As a Giants fan, he has a reputation here that he can't manage the playoffs. And his insane decision to work Woods as if he didn't have a bullpen is another example of how he can't manage a pitching staff under the pressure of the playoffs, where every game is do-or-die.

Bartman hasn't received a nickel out of any of this. He didn't even get the ball after the original "event" occured. An attorney sitting near him actually got the ball and sold it at auction for all that money ($113K). Bartman got nothing out of it and has insisted on staying out of the spotlight. I feel bad for the guy...I hope this puts an end to this for him.

They should 'blow up' Bartman.

You would think the Detroit paper would focus more on their own baseball woes.

I think that Bartman is a fool for not trying to cash in on his fame/notoriety.

There are plenty of opportunities for this guy to make wheelbarrows full of cash with little or no effort. Why not take advantage of your 15 minutes of fame?

Move to Miami, get a sweet job with the Marlins. Get an agent and start making some money on the talk circuits or in advertising. License the "Bartman Catching Mitt" and "Bartman Baseball". Write your bio (with a ghost-writer) and sell the movie rights.

By next baseball season, people are going to start forgetting who Bartman was, and he will slip back into obscurity.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that Siannis' cousin attempted to lift the curse during the playoffs last year.

1908???? Well thats not that long ago. Blowing that ball up is just going to extend your awful curse. I do however wish every cubs fan the best. The sheer determination you exhibit every year is aw inspiring. Oh and you have the best pitching rotation in all of baseball followed by those New Pin striped astros.
