In honor of France's help in the revolution - I will be drinking French wine. Because we are going to a party where burgers and hot dogs will be grilled I will probably bring a couple of bottles of cheap bordeaux or a few cote de Rhones - either

2003 Beaulieu comtes de taste

or

2005 Chateau Pesquie Terrasses

I am also bring two roses that were gifted to me as I do not "get" rose.

Now saturday is a different story - 1.5 inch ribeyes and a bottle of 2004 beaucastel (I know it is early - but I have 9 more and have yet to try one)

If I end up taking it - I will post a TN. I have had probably 6-8 bottles of the 2003 this year. It is excellent and one of my favorite bordeaux daily drinkers. My memory of the last bottle was that another year in the cellar wouldn't hurt, but that it is drinking well - good fruit and soft tanins. I consistently rate it point wise between 88-91 - depending on the bottle, the food and the company. Not bad for an $11 wine!

I've got a few of the 04s as well. Not as good as the 03s but not bad - good 85-88 pt wines.

I heard the 05s are even better than both.
