I have a few old bottles. A 1990 Yquem, 1982, 1986,and 1988 Mouton Rothschild and a few others. I have been told by someone I trust that I should look into having these bottles recorked. What are the guidelines/rules on this?

They're not old. Provided the corks seem sound and levels are good, I'd wait for Mouton and d'Yquem to come to the US to have them recorked. I know Lafite does this. I'd email the wineries and ask their opinions.

Just one more sip.

I agree with Board-O. Recorking is something usually reserved for top-echelon wines when they start approaching 50 years of age. Yours are babies.

These are far too young to even think about recorking.

Good to hear! Corks seem sound and levels are good, and they are being well stored. I will try to email the wineries in 20-30 years to see what to do!
