I also generally drink Negro Modelo when drinking Mexican beers. With the Bohemia recommendation, I may try that, although I have always shied from it, probably due to my mentally connecting it with Naty Bohemian. Yuck.

Sweet. But did he order the '02 Harlan? I passed on the '98 and '00, and still got my allocation of the 2001. Then I received the '02 mailer too late (was overseas), and passed on the '03. We'll see if I get the '04.
....and for the record, I support the Pacifico brand of errr Mexican beer.

KillerB nailed it. Corona doesn't deserve to be called beer. With lime it tastes ever so slightly better that the Bud-Coors-Miller US megabrews, but for preference I'm firmly in the Negro Modelo and Bohemia camp.
20 years ago I was in Washington DC - it was mid June and 100+. A bunch of us had gone to the local deli and were eating our sandwiches outside. They were all drinking Budwater; I'd spotted that the deli had Anchor Porter, which back then I'd never seen before, only read about.
They looked at my bottle and said "How can you drink that stuff?". I looked at theirs and said "I was going to ask you the same thing."
Living much of my life not far from the Mexican border, I grew up drinking Corona, Carta Blanca, Tecate, Dos Equis, and the other mass produced Mexican crap beers. I agree that Bohemia is the best of the bunchm abd stands out head and shoulders above the rest. Corona was around for ever as a very cheap low quality Mexican brew until a very smart importer and marketing company gave it a swanky image, tripled the price, and brought it to the USA paired with lime wedges.
For a great summer beach brew, you can't beat a nice crisp Hefeweizen or a good Czech Pilsner. For a great American crisp refreshing pilsner style beach brew, try the Karl Strauss Woody Gold. Can't wait for summer..........
