Last Sunday I got back from a short excursion through the Paso Robles, CA area, with many great highlights along the way. My favorite? York Mountain was running a sale (allegedly due to a reduction in their storage capacity): I got 3 cases for $30 each: - 2002 Edna Valley Chardonnay - 2001 Paso Robles Zinfandel - 2000 Paso Robles Pinot Noir
Probably most here would opine these aren't stellar wines, but they sure were tasty and easy on the pocket book. I have never bought a case of anything, so needless to say I am sharing a great deal with my friends.

I recently returned from a Cali trip that saw us hit Napa, Sonoma, Santa Cruz, Paso Robles and Santa Barbara County wineries....I saw signs for York but didnt turn off due to time.
I did hit Meridian and EOS (didnt like Meridian's wines) and EOS makes a killer Cupa Grandis Petite Sirah.
I wish I had more time to explore the region, and regret not visiting Justin.

We walked into Meridian and liked the nice grounds, but did no tasting. I wanted to save the vino calories for the smaller, out-of-the-way places.

We got there a minute after closing time, so no tasting there either. Beautiful place, though, and a nice drive.
