VM - A church pew...cool idea. If I ever have a house that's big enough for a cellar, I'd consider it.

When you put your wine in, did you bring the temperature down slowly, or just set it at the desired temp and let the wine cool down as quickly as it would with that temp?

Move from Sauna, put out doors, then in garage, then to wine room. Temps should go down slowly that way.

Sounds like a party.

However, withing 2 years you will find that the capacity is too small, and we all do. Big Grin

Given that it has been 5 years since he posted the original messge, he has probably built a whole new cellar by now.

hahaha- no, this one still works just fine.

Erin- I only store my friends wine in the sauna, my wine goes straight in to the cellar.

aphilia- my wine was in a wine fridge prior to this cellar, so there wasn't a great temp difference. In general though when I receive wine from a store I put it straight in there. I don't think dropping a temperature over several hours should really hurt anything.

Not looking good for next year either.

Eek

So that's it. A quick move to 'the cellar' just days prior to 'friends' pick-up. Razz

Don't you love it when people dig up your old threads and no one notices the dates?
