A few interesting things.

2006 Sassicaia is the stand-out for me. Not a bad price.

Frown Unfortunately, that's very true. Between this release, the mammoth Nov. 21 release, Classics, and the auction, it's turning out to be an absurdly expensive couple of weeks. If it keeps on rainin', levee's gonna break...

I always find the early November release to be the 'teaser' release... Lots of good wine that I'd buy like crazy if offered in, say, May, but overshadowed by the really big guns 2 weeks later.

In past years I'd likely have jumped at Sassicaia, but for some reason I just find it near impossible to justify spending $180 for a bottle of wine this year.

Ouch. Not really much cheaper south of the border either. I seem to remember getting the 03 for $90 or so, though not nearly as highly rated. The tasting note from WA does make this sound rather good. Maybe time to load up a few boxes of underperforming purchases from the cellar to exchange for a bottle or two?

Product consultants have it in the stores... So I've had a very quick look there.

The only wine I am currently thinking of buying is the Cliff Lede Cab, although I'd much prefer to get the 2005 over the 06 vintage.

I bought the 06 Ornellaia and I've ordered the Masseto, so I don't know if I'll get any Sassicaia or not. It's always been further down on my list.

I'll probably be tasting it next Thursday so I will let you know if I don't see you there.

Oh, I forgot that Halpern is the agent. And yes, I will see you there.

2005 was released last year... and I think it was $10 less than they want for the 2006! Mad

The price has gone up in the US as well. Unfortunately, I hear the 06 isn't quite as good as the 05.

I will likely be a little late, but see you there for sure.

If you are at the Sassicaia table, you are in a better place. Wink But we'll keep a lookout for you.

Halpern doesn't represent Tenuta San Guido though. It shouldn't be there as a result.

There wasn't a DRC table at either of the previous two tastings so I wouldn't hold your breath.

If there are any Chile fans out there, Concha y Toro's flagship wine Carmin de Peumo is an ISD. Steep at $120 but very good juice. WA 97 WS 94

I'll try a bottle of PERRIN & FILS LES CORNUDS VINSOBRES 2007 because the last vintage was wonderful QPR, though this one seems weaker. Also the John Duval Plexus and the Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre syrah, if it's the Kuras Vineyard at least (yes WineDaddy, I LOVE Chilean reds.... but not at that price point Frown)
