If Stemor ever ventures here, he might remember where he posted his genious-like ability to carry and/or check 2-3 cases of wine with not too much effort.

Me? I went to Italy (firenze, Tuscany, Bologna, etc) and we hauled back a bit over a case of wine and other bottled goodies (olive oil, balsamico!, and more). We carried on maybe 6-8 bottles in a carry on and placed under our seat and the rest we checked packed into our suitcases. We double or triple sock-wrapped each bottle and then packed well the srurrounding sides and bottoms with tightly packed clothing leaving the bottles to the center of each side of the case. We packed 10 bottles this way. The most prized bottles were hand carried in the carry-on though.

Good-luck!

A case of high end wine = $1200.

My metal shipper = $250.

Do the math.
