Anyone planning to drink anything special on Valentine's day?

We've got a bottle of '81 Petrus slated for dinner but I'm trying to parlay that into a dinner at our favorite restaurant with an '88 Krug and '71 JJ Prum LGKA, though I'm not sure I want to commit to drinking a whole bottle of the latter between two of us. I was lucky to recently get a '58 Conterno Monfortino which might replace the Auslese, though something younger might end up in its slot.

My girlfriend and I picked up a '99 Shea Wine Cellars Shea Vineyard yesterday. Looking forward to drinking it.

Will be in Melbourne on Valentine's Day, and have made a booking at Mask of China, an excellent Chinese Restaurant with a brilliant wine list. Few glasses of Champagne with steamed lobster, and probably a Grand Cru Burg with some Peking Duck and venison. Yeah Baby!

Wine tastes better upside down.

Welcome to the Boards, Mike!

I believe Valentines Day is the day before the big Trouble Causing Forumites dinner in Napa which will be mostly bruiser-type-Cabs, so we'll probably go for a Pinot of some sort. Most likely a 2001 Peter Michael Le Moulin Rouge. We might start with a 2000 Boxler Riesling Sommerberg.

Pinot is my wife's favorite so in all likelihood it will be an '00 Beaux Freres.

We're going to dinner at our favorite restaurant (set menu featuring rack of lamb) with 2 other couples, so we'll be ordering off their wine list, but before we go we will have a couple '90 Pol Roger Rosé over at our place.

Everyone has their own favorites, but IMO nothing says romance like Champagne.

Perhaps a 1986 Calon Segur, but quite possibly----it will be water! I'm going on a diet!

Well, maybe! Perhaps next week---might as well wait till March! Oh nevermind! Frown
