I popped it because mixed notes that I had read on cellartracker. The nose was very reticent other than leather, and the fruit was barely there on the palate. I found it a bit tired.

Mezzo,

How'd you find the 89' margaux? I've only got one bottle and was planning on holding it for much longer, but i'm curious to see how it's doing. Thanks.

I'm curious whether you bought it here or brought it back from a trip ... and if you bought it here, what the price was?

Another question - Have you tried the 98, and if so, which did you enjoy more?

2005 Mondavi Oakville - nice on the second day. A bit too much oak for my taste though.

None of the above. I bought it from a winelist at a restaurant in Hilton Head. $98. They also had the 97 Valdicava Madonna for $195, but I opted for cheap. No regrets.
