Sometimes (read "usually") I'm amazed at the wines you drink.

Just one more sip.

It was fantastic. BOTN. There is no rush in opening the wine. Think dark chocolate-covered cherries. I'm glad I bought a 6-pack which came in a pretty wooden case.

We opened one at the Italian Offline in Chicago last April. It was showing beautifully. I rated it 95 for the evening.

Longboarder attended a dinner with several wine Producers in Tuscany last year, with J.S. in attendance, who gave it a 97 non blind that evening.

A beautiful vintage of this wine, IMO and I agree. It has a long life ahead and still maturing well. Glad you enjoyed yours so much. Smile

Very nice wine. Not as good as the 97, which is the only other Flaccianello I've had. The heat of the vintage resulted in a wine that wasn't as elegant. I'll hold my other bottle for a couple more years. Along with the 2001 and hopefully the 04's. Wink

In my limited exposure to Brunelli, I would say that this wine was the best so far. It's the first '99 I've tried and only have in my basement. I've drunk a number of '97s (Frescobaldi Normale, Poggio alle Mura, Lisini), and I don't think they can hold a candle to this bad boy.
