A more appropriate name for that wine would be Screaming Buyer .

I'm working on my new label, Creaming Beagle. With a second bottling called Osama Zin Laden.

I was especially selective with the California 2006 Cab vintage. Besides, the 2007 California Cabernet vintage is supposed to be the outstanding vintage!

So you passed on the '06 Screagle? I mean, sure, it only got 91 points, but the label has an eagle on it. a screaming one.

Yes, although my post wasn't clear and I can't edit it; I did pass on the 91 Point Screaming Eagle for $750! That's a tough sell in this economy, even for SE, but at 91 points, that's close to impossible!

With the exception of two bottles, that sounds about what I would score the Screaming Eagles I have had.

Let's see, one bottle of 2006 Screagle for $750 or five cases of my favorite 2007 Cotes du Rhone from Kermit Lynch for the same price. This is a tough decision. The Screagle at 91 points and I rate the Kermit Lynch at 89-90 points. What to do?

Guys, i don't think you understand. The label has an eagle on it. And it's SCREAMING!.

It's not a question of points, it's a matter of the sheer terror brought about by the image of an eagle, screaming at you.

Now I understand. I'll apply for a second mortgage so I can comply with that eagle.

W + A...I would agree with you. I think in general Screaming Eagle was nearly always very well done when Heidi was in charge. I wouldn't ever say it was/is worth the price of admission. But...It WAS a quintessential CA Cab. IMHO. It isn't anymore. I don't think Andy has done it any justice. Granted, I haven't had one of his versions of SE, but from what I've read, and the wines of his I've tried...I believe the 91 pt. score...

Where is SE selling for $750? Is that the WS printed price?

I am embarassed to say I purchased one for $1400 as an investment since a very small allocation came to FL.

Regards,
Screaming Ardeis!

Ardeis, release price was $750. At auctions the most it has been going for is about $900. Better drink up, with that score it probably wont appreciate much.
