Shhhhh!
Honestly though, I've been quite good the last couple months. I can splurge once more before I get a real job. |

March certainly looks like an improvement over the weak January and February offerings (with a few notable exceptions).
Wines that caught my eye include: 2001 Ironstone Pressings Did anyone else notice that the price came down a buck? We continue to get tremendous value on d'Arenberg at the expense of almost everything else! 2000 Château Beau-Site A 90-point 2000 bordeaux for under C$40. And it's from St.-Estèphe too! How can you go wrong? 1997 Castiglio del Bosco Brunello This one caught my eye because most of the '97 Brunellos were released some time ago, but I don't know much about it other than its 90-point WS rating. Anyone have any thouoghts? I'll likely pass on the Gaja. I've been unimpressed by the last few vintages of 'Promis' and I'm not (yet) educated enough on barbaresco to warrant dropping C$225. I may pick up some of the 375ml 'Sito Moresco' in my perpetual hunt for high quality halves. |

A perennial favourite of mine is the Muga Reserva, a high-quality, well-priced Rioja in most vintages.

quote: Yeah, we should place bets on who gets "the call" first! I agree with on the wine that the '03 Goldwater SB is worth a very long look, based on their recent efforts. |

I never get the call first! And sorry, bman, but I just couldn't leave the port alone. I ordered some 2000 Graham's and some 2000 Smith Woodhouse.

I just returned my bottles of 99 Lynch Bages. Following the tasting in Toronto, I've been debating bringing them back. It really didn't do it for me. The 99 d'Armailhac was much better (but I already have quite a few of these).
So I purchased some 96 Ducru Beaucaillou. At $249, it is expensive, but from my previous tasting of this, it is worth it (by far, superior to the 96 Latour). Even Parker admitted to underrating this wine with a score of 96. |

I usually just fax in my order form, since I once had a terrible experience where I e-mailed it in and they never received it, so I got virtually none of what I wanted.
This time, I thought I'd give the e-mail route another try. So my question is: Does the LCBO send some sort of confirmation to indicate that they received your e-mail? I e-mailed my order in last night and I haven't seen any sort of confirmation or return receipt. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid... |

I've never received a confirmation...so the answer is no.
