Since the new format I've been periodically checking the "chat rooms" page and haven't seen anything active. Is this ever used, only for paid subscriptions, or is there something else I'm missing?

I don't think it is active yet myself. Confused

I guess that is the obvious explaination. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on something.

I don't know anything about a "chat room" but what are they needed for when we have the MTH forum?

The MTH used to be very interesting, now it is awful and only full of political talk. I can get that elsewhere. Roll Eyes

There is a chat room function over on Vinocellar, but I do not think it is used by many people currently.

TJ---I agree that people do not use it...the number of people on line at any given time who might want to chat is few. I have been involved in chat before and have found that I personally do not want that type of involvement. If you think that occasionally some of our wine colleagues get out of line in this format, a chat option provides a real opportunity for ugliness. I'm really concerned that a direct chat option might be abused and require a full time monitor.

Perhaps Dick but I've been involved in numerous chats on VC and none have come close to requiring a monitor. All have been great so far.
