How's it showing?

Love to hear mareff's opinion. I've had it twice from 375 in the past year and it's either a hold or decant for hours even in this format to my tastes. I won't open another for a few years.

PH

That's good to know. I hope the '06 is similar, as I bought a few from Costco last year.

2009 Tablas Creek Esprit de Beaucastel Blanc – Best Esprit blanc I have had to date. The 09 included more Picpoul than normal which is a good thing in my book as I really love the acidity in a well made Picpoul.

Wines from the holiday weekend:

2010 A.J. Adam Dhroner Hofberger Riesling Kabinett – Another good showing for this producer and 2010 overall which I much prefer to 2009.

2011 Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Watson Ranch – Solid Chard for the money. Nicely balanced.

2010 Rhys Pinot Noir San Mateo County – To early, but still enjoyable. Earthy on the nose with nice red fruits on the palate. Still a little shy, but should warm up in a couple of years.

We polished off a bottle of this after Thanksgiving dinner. Loved the rich caramel and chocolate overtones.

I enjoyed it (88 points is what I gave it), but would've preferred it sitting outside on a warm day. Had some spice and floral aroma & taste.
