Thanks for posting the Sloan telephone number. I left a message telling them that I signed up months ago and never received a mailer. They called back and told me, if I did not receive a mailer, I was wait-listed and would be contacted if others passed on their allocations.

This makes me feel a little foolish when you consider that I sent 3 friends to sign-up on the site only 3 weeks ago, and ALL RECEIVED MAILERS (what did they conduct a lottery?).
Of course my friends all think the wine is too expensive and have elected to pass on their allocations. Gee maybe I’ll be offered their leftovers! Very poor market execution IMO.

Couple of us got the phone call yesterday evening as well explaning the situation.

Due to computer glitch, they have no records of length of time signed up on the mailing list, so they had to do a random drawing to determine who would get the release letter with everyone else gets dumped into the waiting list bucket.

I signed on 7/11/99 when Mark Aubert was involved and they started the list. I got comfirmation from him that I was in the Aubert wines and Sloan vineyards list.
That is almost 4 years lost (like being in a remote island for this long). Mad
Well, I don't care. Probably will get better offers, better wines and better friendly winemakers and owners. Razz

While I only signed up a year ago, it was well before the RP ratings and I did not receive a mailer either. Thanks for the phone number, time for us to light up the switchboard.

orlando,
Sorry to hear of your misfortune, I too signed up with the Aubert's a long time ago before anyone heard of Sloan, although i was lucky and received a mailer.
Hopefully things will work out and you will receive one soon.

It appears that all the mailers they sent out in Feb few were returned. I think they are having a hard time filling up the list with orders. That is scary since only 350 cases were made. I think this could be another Bond wine developing. It goes to show that there are just to many boutique mailing list wines out there. I bet in the next few years we will see some go broke. The demand is just not there anymore.
