30+ pounds down and 20 to go. Still doing well.

I have no problem staying away from junk food, but it is very difficult for me to bbq a nice filet mignon and not drink wine. Big Grin

Surprisingly very open - a little too much too fast this time, if you ask me. They were a great buy 2 years ago (bt a case), and still delicious, but I'm doubting any further improvement out of it now. Did not fade though and still a great QPR.

I really like the Merlot too.

Hunter-

Very timely review of the 01 Steltzner. I have 3 bottles and was debating whether to open the first one this weekend or keep them all buried a while longer. I'll give one a try!

Toght it is a 2000 Chateau Lasalle Saint Emilion grand cru. looking for opinions from anyone else that may have had this one. It was ok but started off a bit musty on the nose and palate and although the mustyness became faint as time went on it never really blew off. Overall I thought it was a bit weak compared to the many other 2000's I've had in the same price range. Light fruit was the predominate feature of the nose with a light fruit and light wood body.

After all is said and done it's still only grape juice.

jas, if you liked it, give Hermann J. Wiemer's 2004 Dry Riesling a try. It's the best dry Riesling I've ever had from the New World.

Just one more sip.

Hi Board-O. Thanks. While Dr. Frank's has generally been my fav of the NY wines, I do remember enjoying Wiemer's. (But, it's been a long time since I've had any Wiemer wines.) Cheers!
