Just wondering if anyone was going on Oct 17th? I am not sure how crowded it will be from years past because of the economy.

perhaps they should discount the general admission tickets. For $250 I could buy a bottle of Grange.. Roll Eyes

Taking a pass on this one. I'm attending a Zachy's event on the 20th for half the price. It's a smaller venue, but I don't think I could taste all the wines in the WS event anyway.

Which one are you guys referring to? The info I found was that the Grand Tours were completed for this year.

That would be a damper for me, access to all those wines but I really don't like to consume more than a bottles worth of wine in an evening. I don't like spitting either. Sounds like something that should be spread out over 5 days, with lots of food.

Zachys is on a week night. I would much rather do a good tasting when you dont have to go to work the next day. I will be heading over to the Wine Spectator tasting tomorrow. I have gone in prior years and they have always done a great job with it.

At these tours is it possible to buy the wine you are tasting?

No they dont do sales there. Its just tatsings usually its the owners of the wineries or the winemakers doing the pouring. Shafer is always Doug and John pouring the wines.

Great tasting, without a doubt worth every penny. 220 top wineries, and all the pours were very nice pours. 04 Harlan and 05 Bucella stood out along with the 05 Bionic Frog. You dont get to try wines like this at tastings besides these WS tastings.
