That's funny. My 3 bottles of Malescot are in but I guess not yet shipped to the LCBO pick up store.

Keeping all of:

Grand-Puy-Lacoste
Rauzan-Segla (T)
La Tour Blanche (T)
Pontet Canet (T)
Smith Haut Lafite (T)
Malescot St-Exupéry
Beaumont (T)

On the fence regarding:

Haut-Bergey Blanc (T)
Pavillon Rouge
Haut-Bailly (T)

Planning to cancel:

Lynch Bages (T)
Nenin
Leoville Poyferre (T)
Carbonnieux Blanc (T)
d'Issan
La tour Martillac (T)

I know this really comes down to a matter of taste so the question is rather futile...but does anyone see any overly stupid decisions (an no I will not cancel my PC or Malescot)?

Yup, Malescot in...but the side letter with the confirmation said that Guiraud will be delayed (along with my Haut Bergey red)...is there a Giraud and a Guiraud, because someone else also mentioned that theirs was in I think. You better call them on the Malescot and make sure they did not give it away to someone else!!

Tag01...you're more than welcome to join us in 2023 Big Grin But seriously though, everytime we get together and I think I'm bringing a great wine, my 3 friends bring even better wines. But I think I'll have them beat when I bring my Angelus.

Mine is Guiraud. I tasted 8 or 10 Sauternes at the 2005 Bordeaux tasting in Toronto last winter and this was the standout, without question. Can't wait for these! As to the Malescot, now I'm worried. But I'm sure they'll make good, right???????

They'll make good as long as a negociant hasn't let them down. The LCBO doesn't sell wine they haven't already contracted to buy, as far as I'm aware.

There are timing differences, though... because they buy from multiple negociants. I've had futures before where everyone else got theirs and mine was backordered. (Received later)

Maybe the Guiraud 750's are delayed..or my letter was wrong. Hopefully SThomas is correct re. your Malescot. I heard of someone's order being cancelled when he did not respond to LCBO's attempted contacts (he was out of the country at the time), but I believe they eventually made good.

No comment. I only got a small pour and when I was ready to pour some more, the bottle went missing. Do you re-call what happen to it?

I don't know whether to congratulate you or curse you...I tried to get some after they were sold out and was told that there would be no more. To have more show up and not have a chance to get them is rather annoying...so I will both curse you and congratulate you!
