Howdy Y'All,
Thanks again for everyone's advice on putting my cellar together. It's finished and I've gotten all of my wine back from the International Wine Vault in Brighton. (Mass.)

Now I'm just organizing it all. Does anyone know where to get good shelf tags for redwood shelves? Wine Enthusiast only sells tags for the Eurocave shelves.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thamks

If the cellar is well insulated, relatively free from air movement, and not overwhelming large, then bottle tags is a waste of time. Every time you open the door, it'll break the vacuum and the tags will fly everywhere.

My suggestion is to just get a simple label maker and print off a coordinate system and track it with cellartracker. Otherwise, you can go to any craft store and I'm sure they will sell you plastic/metal alphabets and numbers if the label is deemed too primitive.

Good luck.

Or better yet, use bin and/or rack numbers in CellarTracker.

Ignore the previous two posters. What you should do instead is use CellarTracker.

Or, if that doesn't work, try CellarTracker.

Agree with the comments about CellarTracker.

But I do use bottle tags (no, they dont blow around). I tag the bottles that Mrs. notawinebrat is allowed to go down to the cellar and grab - without remorse. It is by her request and was decided as an appropriate course of action after she had some friends over for a party and after they had pretty much lost their ability to taste, were still grabbing really dusty bottles and drinking them like kool-aid.

FWIW: Wine Enthusiast sells wine tags that 'grip' the bottle neck vs. just hanging on the neck with over sized holes. Not expensive and easy use.

I've had nightmares about this exact event happening.
