I'll be headed up to San Jose for a technical trade show in about a week and plan on picking up a bit of this and that from JJB including some '06 Bordeaux. I'd be happy to pick up anything you might have there but will only be in a mini-van so I can't bring back your restaurant's stocks for 2010.... unless of course you have a dozen cases of 1st growths and then I'm sure we could work something out.

regards, Scott

Thanks for the offer, but I am laying low for a while (wine purchase wise, that is).

Well buddy, I'm making it up for you. JJB will make their numbers this quarter.

Post your haul when you get back.

Hazeo,

I'm leaving this Saturday with a few fun stops in SB County and/or Santa Maria to try out some Pinot Noir.

I will be at a technical trade show (ISTFA) Monday through Wednesday next week in San Jose and plan on picking up my wine Thursday morning, setting the temperature control in the van to 55 degrees, and then driving the rolling cellar straight back to Carlsbad. Contact me via that previously posted email address if interested.

P.s. Skip the walled up Carlsbad surf and go to Del Mar or La Jolla. Much better down south.

regards, Scott

I buy several bottles per week from JJB/WC, and currently have quite a bit of wine in storage up there. But I get such good delivery service with Golden State Overnight, and it is so inexpensive, that there is no reason to do anything else. Thanks for the offer though. I hope to meet you at an offline sometime. Wait, have I already met you? Smile

Hey Scott,

Turns out my friend in Berkeley is heading south the following week and I'm going to trouble him instead.

It seems we have similar tastes in wine though (also have some 06 bordeaux coming). Perhaps we should organize a north county or SD offline?

Brrrr..... still thawing out after that 55deg van ride. Happy to oblige Red Dude. Wow, did I really buy all this wine??!!

Picked up a couple of the following '06 Bordeaux:

Angelus, Lynch Bages, Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Figeac. Waiting on Calon Segur and D'Issan.

I also splurged and got a couple of tall-boys (Magnums) of Angeuls and Figeac (only 93 bones for that one!).

And picked up some of this and that: '07 Rhone (Domaine de la Solitude), some '06 Columbia Crest Reserve Cab., '06 and '05 Pine Ridge Cab. Sav. (Oakville & Napa Valley), '05 Silverado Vineyards Merlot.

What can I say, I love a bargain!

I have not met anyone from this forum but would love to cross paths at an offline event. Let me know. If you hold off for say 10 years, I might be tempted to bring the Angelus biggie.

Scott

P.s. Met up with Geoff Binder on pickup at JJB, great and friendly guy.

Nice Haul. Check the off-line section periodically. 10 years is a long time to wait to pop corks. I am sure that you could find something that is drinking nice.
Cheers,
Scott aka Red guy

Thanks for the invite but I'm meeting the Mrs. at Meritage in Encinitas for Bordeaux tasting. Bordeaux at K&L last weekend, '06 Bordeaux deliveries, Bordeaux in Encinitas. You might think I could get tired of it all. But you'd be wrong! Wink

Count me in the next time something gets organized. Forgot to add, that big bottle of Anglelus comes with pretty wood crate.
