While very slowly, I've noticed that my average bottle count per wine has been increasing in the last year. So, for my curiosity:

Question:
what is your average bottle count per wine in your cellar?

Choices:
<1
1-2
2-3
3-6
>6

1.6 for me. There have only been a couple wines that I have purchased a whole case of. Most Bordeaux I buy in 2-3 bottle lots but I have a lot of single bottle purchases from Italy and Spain per CT.

You could only have 1 bottle in your cellar which you drank half of last night! Razz

I like Eric LeVine, and he's built a great tool, but man I hate this kind of crap.

1 - Every wine I have has a bottle it is in. Except for the one Stef drank last night (I've been sick, no wine for me). That one no longer has a bottle it's in. Actually I suppose it's higher, we have some empty bottles around, so we have more bottles than wine. Does cellartracker calculate that too?

Don't hate it to much Paul - it lets me see that our average for your wines is way higher than our general number

No, that would be 0 bottles since you'd have consumed it already. You don't uncork a half bottle.

As for .375mL bottles, or whatever, I still don't see it. Total bottles (regardless of size) divided by different wines get your value. So it's still not going to be less than 1.

Those .3 bottles are good when your buying expensive bottles like 05 Bordeaux. My 75 ML 2005 Latour was only $110!

3.2, but that is because a lot of the cases and half cases are offset by a whole bunch of single bottles.

When in doubt, open another bottle.

Small number like I thought it would be: 2
Doesn't change much if I look at it by Producer: 3

But then again, I buy almost nothing in case lots any more. Getting too old to wait for them to mature.

Exactly 2.86 bottles per wine, on average. Very few with more than 6.

So that tells me you have 229 different wines and 730 total bottles, or some multiple thereof. You should be careful about telling this board too much.
