In the September, 2009 issue of Decanter, sommelier Matthew Mawthus of L'Etranger in London says his biggest faux pas was "serving someone's Chateau Margaux 1982 to the wrong table. My boss was furious!"
I wonder what was going through the mind of the guy that got to look at the label and taste the wine and then accept it after it was poured. I probably would have said I didn't order this bottle.

I once had the 1982 Chateau Margaux poured at the right table, and I wasn't impressed, at all! About six years ago at dinner with Mr. & Mrs. Board-O, we opened a 1982 Chateau Margaux, and was introduced to sublime disappointment!
Seriously, there's some bottle variation with the 1982 Chateau Margaux, but I've never had one that was close to a 100 pointer! The anticipation scored far more that the actual drinking of the wine! Anyway, it was definitely not the WOTN!
