Does anyone have any insight regarding the 2007 cab offering from Rudius (at least that they would be willing to share)?

I just tried this from barrel last Friday and it's gonna be really nice. A bit more restrained with good structure. I wish I were on this list! Maybe I should email Jeff Ames...

Allocations are up. The 07 is once again $62 (plus $3 per bottle ground shipping).

Also, the 08 is available as 'futures' for $50 per.

I'm in!!!

I was able to get the Syrah and Grenache but no dice on the cabernet. Not very happy about it, because frankly, I am not sure I would have bought the others if I was going to be locked out on the cab. Oh well, I read somewhere that he plans to make some of the cab available on the 27th or 28th after the people that bought last year got theirs.

Whitey, did you get an offer for the Emerald Pool Syrah?

What year? When I first signed up last year - I did for the 2006 but I decided to wait until the new offerings (probably a mistake).

The 2007s are not released with the cabs but I believe sometime in the winter for Spring shipping. He has 3 releases, the RRV Syrah and Grenance (to be shipped in Nov), the Cab (relased now), and then Syrahs in Spring. Here is his note from another board (hope I am not breaking any rules here).

"Glad everyone is looking forward to it and enjoyed the '05 versions. The next release after this will be in the fall for the '07 Napa Cabernet and then the '07 Alder Springs Emerald Pool Syrah in the Spring." - Jeff Ames

Ah ok. I just put myself on this list a month or so ago. I contacted Jeff directly because I wanted to include his Syrah in a blind tasting I am planning on putting on here in Miami but he said he literally had nothing left. I really want to grab a couple of bottles of the 06 Syrahs but I'm not going to include them if I have to go through the secondary market.

I wonder how long the waitlist is now?

Not sure, but I know on "the other board" he gives a good description of why the Cab is so light this year. I believe he is down 30% or so on the 2007 Cab but the number should double for 2008 vintage.

Without knowing Jeff, it would seem he plays around with alot of different stuff (and apprently does it well). I am anxious to get the RRV Syrah and RRV Grenahce into try. And not getting any of the cab is probably just jealousy for the folks who did.

I'm in too.

Bought the 06 and popped one the other day to make sure I wanted to order the 07. With that being said, I'll take all I can get.

Also bit on the reduced futures for the 08 Cab.

MWN - List shouldn't be too long. I joined last year and received the next mailer/allocation for the the 06 RRV Syrah and Grenache. Did not get an allocation for the 07 Cab though, as it only went (initially) to those who purchased the 06 and I was not on the list when the 06 allocation went out.

In the mean time, if you check Wine Searcher there are several retailers who have the 05/06 RRV Syrah and 06 Alder Springs Spirit Rock and West Block available for the same price as the mailing list. I have an 06 West Block open tonight and am enjoying. The 05 RRV is in a great place right now, and the '06 RRV will be even better than the 05 in another year or two. Purchased and tried an 06 RRV at retail while waiting for my shipment and was extremely pleased with it. Cheers!

Thanks Tuscanswede - I picked up a bottle of the Spirit Rock and the Emerald Pool for a BBQ at a co-worker's place this weekend. Very excited.

FYI - I just got my email with an allocation of 3 and a chance to wish list 3 more. So I guess Jeff did have some left over.

There is also a chance to purchase futures for the 2008 vintage, but $12 savings a bottle is not worth me tying up my money for 1.5 years. But it might be a way for others to get on the list.

If you feel wishlisting 2 for me, feel free, Whitey Big Grin I will send you a check whenever you'd like.

I only had to pay for 3 and will be billed if I get the others (probably not likely). If I do get all 6 - you are welcome to 2 of them. Pregnant wife = way too much wine in the house right now.

I just got this e-mail as well. I am still debating on whether to bite on the 2008 futures.
