Wow, nice selection! Either you've visited a lot of producers or you have visited a wineshop with a strange name in Bernkastel Wink

Did you taste the 2007's ? How's the quality of 2007, compared to 2006 ?

MoselleLux -

you're quite right. Ingrid's rieslinghaus (weinhausporn.de ; ) is the most comprehensive (and bargain-filled) Mosel wineshop i've ever been too. We go about once a year and feel like kids in a candy shop.

I did try some 2007s, and based on my own impressions and those that I talked with, the 2007s are a bit of a combination of 2004 and 2005. Very different from the 2006--without the unabashed opulence that 2006 gave to seemingly every wine--they have lots of minerality with also great fruit. I was impressed--definitely a more "traditional" vintage than the last few years has seen, but we'll see what the consensus is.

Didn't visit too many producers this year since it was a quick trip--compared to last year when we went to 6 or 7.

2 x 2004 Le Macchiole Messorio @ 132 Euro
2 x 2006 Prager Riesling Smaragd Trocken Wachau Klaus @ 25 Euro

I left one Messorio on the shelf, but I'm wondering if I should go back tomorrow and liberate it.

I feel like the 06 Prager Klaus is a real lucky find as well. Most stores are sold out of the 06 vintage which was a real stand-out, and the 07 just isn't quite as good.
