That would be a huge shock and a great loss. Where did you hear that? I don't find anything in the usual places.

I just placed a call to a friend in France. He has not heard about it.

This strikes me as more than just a little irresponsible without naming a source...

Just checked some French news web site and they don't mention anything.
If it's some kind of a joke that's pretty stupid to stay polite.

Nothing comes up about this in my searching as well.
I find it very hard to believe something like this wouldn't show up via the net quite quickly.
Frankly, I don't believe it. I concur with Eric White's comment, completely.

Can't find anything either so far. But some guy over on Ebob posted this as well but again, no news source was cited. Just that the importer got a call about the plane crash. Eek

It would be terribly sad if this were true.

I just requested a tasting with Dag last Friday at lunch with a friend in the trade.

I was expecting an answer this week.

Very curious nothing showing up. My friend in France is making calls.

Isn't it 3 in the am in France right now?

The only report of a frenchman dying in a plane crash is the one crash in Russia, but that was a few days ago. One French national dead, but can't find a name released online. But this also wasn't a small plane, 88 dead.

I propose a wine-board wide toast to Didier tomorrow night to honor his accomplishments and eulogize his profound impact on the world of wine. We've lost a great visionary that will not be replaced.

A discussion board that came up in a search said that an e-mail his wife got that it involved hang gliding (or I would further speculate an ultralight type plane) which may explain the lack of a story on a plane crash.

And as of yet no mention on the WS homepage. We do get puff pieces about some actor and the Pointer Sisters though, oh and don't forget the crappy home video contest. Roll Eyes

Stock up now if you can, as you will never get to buy Silex again. Frown
