Seriously heartbreaking, and this is a GREAT shop down here in South Florida, I know MiamiWineNovice is a regular at this place. I really hope they catch this "bag of douche".

Agreed. It's not need, it's greed.
Let him pay for it like anyone else. I hope they snag this a**hole!

The news feed mentions that it's the only bottle in Fla. Not true. West Palm Wines (Tampa) shows it in stock for $695 (Wine-Searcher is your friend Wink ) Best price on W-S: $475 at Kahn's in IN.

It's on the news video attached to the page linked. A '90 Lafite.

I'm not sure what the bottle was but boy did it taste great!

Seriously, though - this sucks. Eddie, the owner of the shop, is a great guy and I feel for him. Really a horrible thing. I will try to find out what it was and post.

They have a "100 point room" in the back and it's normally open. Me thinks there will be a lock on that fairly soon.

MWN, check out the video link, they interview Eddie and show the 100pt room. The bottle is a 1990 Lafite. Really sucks.

A 90 Lafite?

I hope they catch the guy who stole it.

Interestingly, I have one bottle of 90 Lafite that I bought in Germany in 1993. I didn't realize it was worth so much.

That really sucks. He was just showing it off a week or so ago when I was in the store.

What did the guy do, stick the bottle in his pants and walk out? Shouldn't that have been pretty obvious?

Just one more sip.

An employee where I work got caught lifting a bottle of Lafite. Whoops.

I frequent that shop often. They should be used to seeing huge bulges in pants.

The cortisone injection worked (for now). Playing college bball wasn't worth 10+ years of backpain afterwards!

You sure it was the bball, or the chicks college ball players usually pull? Wink

Update: An attorney contacted the wine shop and asked if the bottle were to be anonymously returned, if the shop would not press charges.

Bottle returned, hopefully uncooked.

State attorney can still press charges.
