Just wanted to spend my first post saying hello to everyone and giving some intros. I live out in the west suburbs of Chicago and have just really gotten into this hobby in the past half-year (coincidentally coinciding with my exit from college and entrance into the professional field). I don’t know much about wine so far except what I like and what I haven’t liked, but I have been reading WS for about 5 months and tasting all I can afford. I’ve been lurking here for a few days and you all seem like a nice, friendly board so I thought I would mingle a bit and see if I can learn a few things and maybe make a few friends.

Cheers!
Big Grin

Welcome VG.

Like you I have have only recently started posting here. Great group of folks with varied backgorunds and experiences to make things VERY interesting. Your bio says you like Rieslings. Tell us of some that you liked, didn't like and maybe try your hand at a TN. Great ice breaker. Big Grin

Chi-town has a great presence on this forum and, from what I read here, some fantastic offline events.

You might wanna invest in some teeth-whitening strips. Big Grin

Hello back at you. This board can be enlightening, stimulating, humorous; but nice, friendly - well, stick around.

TVG,

Welcome. Check out the Off-Line Forum for a list of what is going on in the Chicago-land area. A good portion of the Chicago Wine Mafia also lives in the Western Suburbs so we have quite a few gatherings close to your area.

Thanks,
Rob
