I'll be travelling through SB with my wife and young kids and hope to pop into a few wineries for tours and tastings (Pinot and Syrah). Any suggestions of good tasting rooms or tours in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, or the general area?
Melville, Brewer-Clifton, ROAR, Sea Smoke. All make great Pinot.
I'm sure Fess Parker is open and they make some good wines. I'm told Sanford is a nice winery to visit, though most of their wines aren't quite up to the quality of Ojai or Brewer-Clifton (the Sanford top of the line PN is awesome, though).

Hitching Post in Buellton makes some tasty pinots, plus their steaks and seafood are the best in the area, imo! They seem to be fairly kid-friendly as well.
