For me, it's two 1998 reds:

-Cave de Tain l'Hermitage Hermitage Les Nobles Rives

-Chateau Reynella Basket Pressed shiraz

with BBQ (even in January! Eek) t-bones topped with a Quebec blue cheese similar to Stilton;

and a 2000 white:

-Grove Mill chardonnay (NZ - a favourite of ours in a previous vintage in Pakistan)

with BBQ lobster tail.

I was sorely tempted to open my first 2001 Dead Arm, as I have several, but I'm still too cheap to open something that I know is still much too young. Maybe when I have someone besides my missus who I know will really appreciate trying it....

bman,

Give this a couple hours in a decanter. It's a wonderful wine that I've had the pleasure of enjoying a couple times. Three bottles left and no rush to drink them. Let me know what you think.

Fut, you and I are truly twins separated at birth! (notwithstanding the 20 year age difference...). I decanted this almost exactly 90 minutes ago, and will begin drinking it about kickoff! Big Grin

lol! Good show! Did you enjoy the wine?

I opened up a 1999 Pirramimma Petit Verdot Reserve to go with a top sirloin roast I prepared. It was very good, but needs time. I'll post full notes later.

Save the Dead Arm! I've had it and it was so closed for me, I could hardly enjoy the stuff! lol Luckily, it wasnt one of my bottles that was being poured. Smile Give it a few more years before its ready to show off.

I was not drinking the 3 pack of 2001 Two Hands Ares that I lost on a bet because the Patriots did not cover.

Cluricaunwines - I was going to offer to send you a tape of the game - but all the sports channels have been replaying highlight reels from the Super Bowl game. So far, Janet has made every single one of these showings. Seems unanimous that her equipment fumble was a game highlight.

It's not too late to open a bottle and salute her performance everytime it comes up (er, off!)
