A wine bar in town is featuring wine from cask or barrel. I have heard of wineries doing barrel samples but I always thought of the wine in the barrel sample as being primary. This is more like having wine on tap or from a keg. Has anyone else seen wine offered in this format? If so, how do you like it?

Ditto. Bring your carboy and enjoy. Quite common in Europe. Not sure why it hasn't been exploited here in the US more other than our culture isn't geared towards it quite yet.

I've found this in numerous rural areas of Spain. Bars in little towns in the Balearics routinely dispense wine in that manner, by the glass or by the bottle.

Just one more sip.
