I have enjoyed Bella's, GemTree Uncut & Shotfire and am yet to decide on Wallace. Plan on grabbing the CdP's and usually get sucked into a bottle or two of the 375 BdM.

PS. Where's Nicos?
Still here. Helping family member with cancer has been causing all else to take a back seat but hopefully things will get back on track asap.
It appears most stores are in pursuit of the 2005 Callabriga DOC Dao for $19.95 - this wine was rated 90 points by Wine Spectator and was #57 on the Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2008.
Personally, I am trying to grab as much stock of the 2005 Pirathon Barossa Shiraz for $38.95 -- had it in the tasting room and could still taste it after 3 minutes...
Then looking to get as much of: 2007 Wallace by Ben Glaetzer - $24.95 2007 Ring Bolt Cabernet - $19.95 2007 Gemtree Uncut Shiraz - $24.95 2008 Thorn-Clarke Shotfire Shiraz - $21.95 2007 KWV Cathedral Cellars Chardonnay - $13.95 2005 Dynamite Cabernet - $15.95 2007 Seven Deadly Zins - $19.95 2007 Arboleda Carmenere - $18.95 2009 KWV Cafe Culture Pinotage - $13.95 2007 Vieux Donjon Chateuneuf - $59.95 2007 Coudoulet de Beaucastel - $29.95 2004 Castelgiocondo Brunello - 375mL - $26.95
Instore Discovery 2007 Heartland Directors Cut Shiraz - $31.95 2007 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia - 1500mL - $129.95 2007 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia - 3000mL - $274.95

Can anyone give any input about the 2004 Castelgiocondo Brunello? 95 WS and 90 WA (AG) - tasting notes couldn't be more different either. Anyone try this or has heard good things?

I tasted this last month and was very impressed with it - more towards the 95 (WS) than 90 (AG)
It seemed very accessible, expressive and well developed for its age - balanced and delicious (this is about as good as I get with an attempted tasting note)
also, I am so happy with the 1999s that I've had that I will be buying this

That's great; exactly the type of feedback I was looking for - really appreciate it.

Wish you the best - certainly understand any absence. I am sure I can speak for all of the 'buddies' hanging out here at WS from Ontario.
Greg
Thanks to Greg and Stevey for good wishes. Positive vibes always help.
BTW - thought the group might like to know that I've posted a new thread for the Vintaes Delist effective October 12, 2009 - to save you looking at the main page, here is the link: http://winething14.webs.com/october12delist.htm
The five wines that immediately hit my radar are: 2003 Spadina Una Rosa Nero d'Avola 2004 Ghemme 2001 Bordon Rioja Reserva 2006 Evans & Tate Chardonnay 2006 Grand Veneur Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge

and includes the Nicolas and the Adrianna (and a couple others) with good prices. These would've been lottery wines had they gone through the Classics catalogue. If you're interested, better call ASAP because I think they'll disappear fast.

Thanks Stevey. When the email came in, I was busy and so blew it off as another overpriced sales offer. But you are right, there are some decent wine choices there.
Thanks Stevey for keeping us in the loop, those bottles are going fast. The 2004 Nicolas was brilliant, so happy to get the 2005x3. Really appreciate the heads up.

Super quite for a great release !!! I heard a small rumor that my local LCBO manager was considering limiting one per person.. I know they already do it at many of the larger stores... What a dreadful thought.

FWIW, I also tasted it last month from a 375 ml bottle, but I was not impressed. Even the 90 rating from Galloni is generous as far as I'm concerned. I will not be buying any.
2005 Clos Martinet. This wine is part of the October Classics release at $99. It's also on the list for the October 24 release at $79. Two different codes. What's with that? Either way, the price sucks as I picked it up at the SAQ two weeks ago for $64.

Ditto for me; I've had it twice and wasn't overly impressed. Pretty average brunello.
I wonder if this is going to be like the 1999s where I was really unimpressed with the Castelgiocondo after trying numerous bottles and bringing the others back. I liked the 1998s, 2000s, and 2001s though. 2003 was garbage, but that's not much of a surprise.

Maybe. I still have not tried a 99 even though I have two bottles in my cellar, which I had already bought by the time you posted your impressions here. I decided to keep (and bury) them in case JS knew something I didn't. I'm not going to do that this time because I tried it first. OTW's comments just confirm my thoughts.
That doesn't sound great; thanks to all for your commentary and input. It's interesting that the LCBO published Galloni's comment and score and not Suckling's 95 and note... would likely fly off the shelves.
