Hinano is by far the best beer I ever tried. It is brewed in the South Pacific (Tahiti) and saddly is currently only available in Tahiti, Hawaii and Cali. Long story short- Heinken sent a few brewmasters to Tahiti to start brewery there. The bremasters wound up buying out brewey from Heinken and set up shop for themselves. Maybe it had to do with being on honeymoon or being that is was always over 85 degrees there, but I never hada beer that tasted as good or quenched that beer hunger better. I recently cvelebrated an anniversary and I ordered a case via Cali and had it shipped third party to NY. Anyone want to havea beer tasting LOL, we can make it an offline event, pair it with some nice food and then make tasting notes.

There's a series of commercials running here now that show guys giving up/throwing away their prized stuff like beer bongs, funny t-shirts, shot blasters, beer holder hats, talking bottle openers, etc., all to the approving/encouraging looks of their buddies and S/O's. The tag line is, "Move up to the adult taste of Miller Genuine Draft." MILLER??? That's the crap I moved away from even before the microbrew expansion in the 80's! Who can possibly be drinking this swill outside of the NASCAR circuit?

TBird, I like and respect you, but I just don't know. There is way too much wine to drink. If I do come back, I will give you full credit.

F! yes, Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier is an all time favorite of mine, Spezial also qualifies but is much more difficult to find here. Last summer i was lucky enough to spend a couple days in Bamberg and get it straight from the source. Kellerbier (also out of bamberg) is one of my absolute favorite styles, little known, underappreciated. Great great great stuff. Schlenkerla also makes a smoked weizen which, is pretty interesting itself, though not the best of bothworlds in my opinion.

I'll be damned if TBird isn't right.
I was off beer completely for over 6 months and then went to Jamaica last week. Since the wine was absolutely terrible and one can only drink so many frozen daquiris and pina coladas - I jumped to the dark side...... Red Stripe. In very large quantities, I might add.
For the most part I don't drink beer much anymore. However, the other night we were at a place that had free pints with any BBQ entree. I didn't order to get the beer, but that was a nice compliment to the meal I must say. I had a BBQ pork sandwich with coleslaw. They say they smoke their pork for 16 hours. It was mighty tasty, and the beer I got was a microbrew from Fort Collins, CO (wheat something or other). That beer complimented the meal much like a good Cab would compliment a nice steak.
