I waited 2 years for Sloan.I've been waiting about 10 months for Scarecrow.
Alban and quilceda Creek all of a sudden have open arms.

sade58,

Wasn't sure about your comment regarding Sloan. Are you saying that you were offered the Sloan because I doubt they have a waiting list anymore.

Scarecrow does have a wait.

Drinkward Peschon.

A few years back they didn't have a waiting list.

Now they have a waiting list for the right reason.

I've been on board all along!

I agree with your comments about Drinkward Peschon, and I'll add "Jean Edwards"

latour67,

Isn't it refreshing to know that a few producers appreciate our loyalty.

The tide went out and it took Harlan, Bryant, Staglin, Araujo, and others out to sea. Unfortunately many didn't bring their life jackets.

The Levy McClellan vessel had two large holes below to begin with and has disappeared from radar.

Will be interesting to see where those wineries are 3 years from now...I would bet some will have lowered their prices..I don't know anyone who is still buying those wines.

Just curious - what vintage and how much for the Sloan at Costco?

I came across Hoopes Vineyard's web site. At the bottom it says "Request for mailing consideration".

A bit arrogant or is it just me?

My advice is to jump on that. They make a great cab for $60 a bottle.

Last I heard, Stephania still has a waiting list.

Also Oregon PN thread reminded me of Thomas Winery. I'm not even sure you can get on a waiting list.

Depending on your preferences, I find Arcadian to be a very rewarding list. Same with McPrice Myers.

I enjoy buying directly from the following wineries, though I'm not sure I'd call all of them "lists"

Siduri/Novy (Pinot, Syrah, Zin, others)
Ketcham Estate (Pinot)
Ridge (Monte Bello futures)
Linne Colado (Zin, Rhone Blends)
Stefania (Cab & Syrah)
Turley (Zin & Petite Syrah)

I'm also on the Alban list. While I love the wine, some things about the experience leave me less enthusiastic.

Understanding that I rarely drop more than $75 on a bottle of wine, the only waiting list that I would recommend is Carlisle.

I'm not sure if Stefania (w/an "f") has a wait list but they're worth checking out. Lately, they're making a Syrah, two Cabs, a Pinot Noir, and a great QPR field blend.

Also, consider Neal for solid Napa mountain cab, petite sirah, and zinfandel.

There's definitely no wait for Siduri/Novy and they produce a bevy of good Pinot, Syrah, Zin, Chard,...and at good prices and very fair shipping costs.

With all the lists opening up, did you all get on the lists you wanted?

I finally got Quilceda Creek, Martinelli, and Leonetti offers... I even got some Cayuse Bionic Frog... But Sine Qua Non... No dice.

Montsant - I know what you mean about the Alban experience; I dropped off that one.

Does anyone know if A. Rafanelli still has a wait for their mailing list?

I joined the A. Rafanelli list in 2003. Since they only make one wine which costs $100, the Terrace Select Cabernet, and there is a 3 bottle allocation, I would imagine they haven't been hurt as much as many other wineries in this poor economy. Most of their wines cost in the area of $28-$48, and they are well known for their Zinfandel, but they also make a good Cab too.

Their website is rather spartan, and does not have a feature for registering for their mailing list, so I suggest you telephone A. Rafanelli and request that you be added! http://arafanelliwinery.com/

I visited the winery with Board-O in 2003, and I think I was added at that time because Board-O was already on the list... You might call and tell them you post on WS forums, and several members are on their list and you would like to be added. Good luck!

Lentini

I'm on the Martinelli and the Quilceda Creek active mailing list, but didn't order the wine this fall.

I've been on the Leonetti and Cayuse waiting list for several years, but still have heard nothing; but that's okay with me. However, that Bionic Frog, as well as the Widowmaker, are both fantastic wines, and I would buy both if I were on the Cayuse list!

QC has a waiting list for their reg. Cab
Cayuse has a waiting list
Leonetti has one
Saxum and Carlisle are still waiting lists
SQN has a waiting list
KL - you need to ask that your name is added to the reserve list (it is not automatic). There also may still be some 2005's left. Call Ric Henry and ask.
Lewelling will have an open spot this year as i am dropping off

Those That Pretend They Have Waiting Lists:

there's also a Chardonnay.

As far as I know there is currently no wait list.
If you sign up by a certain date you will get an offer. The Pinot, Chardonnay and I think the Chaine d'Or Cabernet are so low production that they are allocated
