I called them (after not hearing while all of you do!) and was told that I was one of the handful of orders that the new random allocation software messed up. They have to go through these by hand and re-do them and I will hear back from them by late next week.

They SAY that it will not affect my ability to get an allocation of the “lottery” wines, but I don’t quite understand how. If the software allocates all of the wine, and the software didn’t like my whole order, I realistically assume that I will only get allocated wine that is still available when they go back an revisit my order a couple of weeks after all the hard to get wines are already allocated and sold… they promise that isn’t the case, however…

I’m vacillating between being pissed off and relieved that I’m not going to be spending money that should be going towards my new house…

It wasn't just your order, Rob. I just called them to give them credit card numbers for our two orders and was told that they can't open the files up to take the payment information for fear of screwing up the whole order. In doing these random allocations, the order files were split up - and now they can't get them back together again. I was told that this has affected the majority of their orders, so you can just sit back and relax while they learn how to merge files.

No surprise - this is the LCBO after all!

Same issue for me. Being the LCBO, I can't say I'm surprised that this wasn't tested adequately (at all?) in advance.

I got

2/2 Muga, Seleccion Especial
0/3 Deus Ex Machina
0/2 Combe des Fous
1/1 Usseglio, Imperiale
0/3 Clos des Papes
1/1 Carpineta, Dofana
1/1 Frescobaldi, Giramonte
2/2 Graetz, Testamatta
1/1 Montes, Folly
1/1 Aaalto, RdD

I could care less about the Clos des Papes, but I wouldn't have minded one of the Clos St. Jean's.

Got the following through a friend of mine in Toronto.

2/2 Clos des Papes
3/3 Masseto.

Was surprised by the fact that he got everything he ordered, as he seldom orders anything from Classic.

Under LCBO's Classics lottery system, persistence does not pay off, it's just blind luck.

Looks so far like everyone who ordered the Masseto is getting it.

Still Masseto's to be had, why? $400 a bottle.

I was told the Masseto was all gone, but I'm not sure if it went through the lottery or not.

Well... I take that jealousy bit back. My wife found out today that she got 1 of the 3 CNDP's...

The kicker is that she doesn't know which one! Confused

Could have been any, but the Combe des Fous was apparently one they had a problem with, that was not initially allocated. Someone I know was initially told that she got nothing (when she called them on Monday), but was called back a few days later and told she actually did get the Combe des Fous. However, hope you are lucky and its the DeM!!

No Clos des Papes or either Clos St Jean, but I did get some of the 2006 Usseglio and 2004 Fontalloro.
