g-man,

When did you have the 66? I'm awaiting a bottle from WineBid.

I've had some ports taste better after a day of decanting but I've never seen improvement beyond that. The most noteworthy improvement would be a '77 Taylor I had earlier this year with friends on a reunion weekend getaway. After several hours it was amazing, the next day (about 20 hours after opening) it was even better. It was in an open decanter the whole time. Makes me REALLY look forward to the other two bottles I have!

I get bad secondary flavors after a couple of months at most. That is with storage at 60-65 degrees
