What if the sky was pink with chocolate polka dots? As I said, I can see wanting more diversity than DRC provides (thus flirting with Quintarelli and Chapoutier... though I'd probably have to choose Chapoutier over Quintarelli) but Penfolds?! d'Arenberg?! I believe you and I have quite differing palates. "What contemptible scoundrel stole the cork from my lunch?" -- W.C. Fields |

Let me understand. You pick Peter Michael and think d'Arenberg is a good choice, but want to know if I might get tired of DRC. Have you ever had DRC? I will assume your tongue was in your cheek. |

No, are you offering to remedy that? Of Love and Wine: Always to spark the flame, but never to douse the fire |

Which makes all of you what? smarter than me? in possession of a better palate than mine? It was all just for fun, but people like you have to prove they can piss higher on the tree than anyone else in the neighborhood. Of Love and Wine: Always to spark the flame, but never to douse the fire |

haha...
You missunderstood my comment. It wasn't about your lack of experience with it, but rather it was that anybody who has had those wines would automatically choose them. That is all... it was about how much DRC rocks. "What contemptible scoundrel stole the cork from my lunch?" -- W.C. Fields |

Okay, I haven't had a DRC (although I do have one in my cellar), but I like to eat way too much to be limited to Burg (I have had plenty of other Burgs to somewhat reference, but, flame on if you must
Now that being said, if it were solely drinking and eating had nothing to do with it, then, if I had the experience, might very well go with DRC. But if eating were in the equation, then things might be very different. One question, MBD. Since Penfolds is under the Fosters umbrella, may I appropriate other Fosters products in the NWO? There's no parroting going on here. You stick with your Kosta Browne. I'm sure you'll be very happy together. Just one more sip. |

Oh my, this is definitely the most unique way of asking a question I have seen in here. Well, if I had to choose I would have to flip a coin as whether it would be Chateau Ausone or Chateau Petrus. Let their flagship wines age, while being able to enjoy their secondary wines.
After that I would stock up on all kinds of Ports and beer since the NWO made no limits on these. *********************** BOYCOTT TYSON CHICKEN!! |

DVD... I haven't had that one but my gut would be, it might be even better on your twentieth anniversary. Though surely, it would probably be singing in two years as well... "What contemptible scoundrel stole the cork from my lunch?" -- W.C. Fields |

You know, if I could only drink Champagne from one house for the rest of my life I'm honstly not certain I wouldn't choose Billecart over Krug either. It would be very close. "What contemptible scoundrel stole the cork from my lunch?" -- W.C. Fields |

For me...if it were Champagne....it would be Salon. I've yet to have a bad bottle. '88, '90, '95, '96 are all fantastic.

My first impulse would be to say Bruno Giacosa, but with Bruna now in charge I question if the quality will remain the same. So La Spinetta may have to do, but with the price is no object rule I would go for Tua Rita. Nice Bordeaux blend, great Merlot and Syrah, very good Sangiovese and a decent white. As for DRC I'm not much of a fan of Pinot, but then again I've never tried one over $1000.
