Impressive Sticky. Been going to auctions? Or did you find a private party seller?

My neighbor put his home up for sale. He decided it was time for a change, he and his wife want to travel the world and he bought a condo in San Diego. He has no room for his wine so he offered me his collection.

I made a lump sum offer and he accepted. The non-French stuff is from mailers and some of the others from my wine guy.

I also offered to store some wines for him so he did not have to give up everything. You should see how much '88 Mouton is in my cellar, an impressive sight to say the least. I feel like a kid on Christmas day.

I obviously live in the wrong neighborhood. If any of my neighbors put their houses up to sell, all they would be able to offer is a few cases of Bud Light.

I am ashamed at myself. So far this week, I have only bought two bottles of wine at auction:

'91 Solaia
'95 Valandraud

I have a few bids left but at the prices I bid, I don't expect to win. The above two were surprise wins for that matter.

2005 Chateau Talbot, St.-Julien, 47 Euro, not exactly cheap.
The good news is: The 2006 Bordeaux seem to hit the shelves at a much lower price than 2005. The Talbot 2006 was 'only' 28 Euro, maybe an option for next year.
2004 Thokozani Shiraz Mourvèdre, South Africa, 9 Euro, the fastest growing country in my cellar.
