BIG thanks and props to aav28 for stepping up and helping me make arrangements for the right replacement unit PDQ. Winner < 24 hours and bottles were back in their comfy cool bin locales. Smile

Talk about a strange coincidence: same thing happened to me, almost to the day with the same unit!

12X 2009 Delas Hermitage les Bessards. This is the first time that our local monopoly gvt store is pricing this lower than anywhere else in North AmericaSmile

2010 Beaurenard Boisrenard (or is it the other way around?)

2009 Sette Ponti
2007 Ciacci Piccolomini

Cheers,

Ditto here. I contacted aav 2 days ago, and by 5:00pm today, my new cooling unit was up and running and my wines were only at room temperature for 4 hours. Courteous, professional and remarkable service by one of our own. Thanks aav. A+++ service and highly recommended if you need anyting for your cellars.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

I split a case of '99 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc with a friend back several months ago. ( Sotheby's auction) I completely forgot I bought these, and when they arrived at the office yesterday it was like an early Christmas present.

Nice selection! How was the Ornellaia when you had it in Italy?

The 2009 still seemed very primary and unsettled compared to the 2008 which was fabulous. But that will change with a bit more time.

There was a post around the Nov 24th release date that this had been delayed to Dec. 8th.

Was that incorrect?

That was correct. The date of my post was Dec 5, and the Dec 8 release was delivered to the store on the 4th.

Probably one of those crazy accounting moves. He might have overdone it in November and needed to move these expenses to another month!! LOL

Yes in 10 years I will have a lot of great wine in it's prime. Until then I must be patient and occasionally open a bottle before its time Bang
