My experience has been they are very monolithic, low in acidity or complexity and poor wines to enjoy with food.
Any you think I should try?
The ones I tasted at release (and are probably in their dumb phase now) and really liked were Pavie, Monbousquet and St Pierre. However, they were much more Cali like than Bordeaux. I like Old World meets New World wines, but I doubt you would like them as much as I. I agree with you these are not geared as well for food and do not have a classic Bordeaux profile. They should drink well young though.
Checking some of my old TN's on CT (which you could do too if you actually USED IT ) from a tasting of 03 Bordeaux back in 07, two Margaux wines struck me as more classic styled, Siran and Duforts Vivens which may be more up your alley. I like the Siran better and it cost less too.
