Have you any unusual, interesting, funny or just plain weird wine experiences? No matter whether you were an active participant or a mere bystander, post it.

I had a "believe it or not" experience this Valentine's Day at the Broadmoor, in Colorado Springs. This is a 5 star resort. It's not where my wife and I typically go, due to the expense, but, a splurge for us. In any event, I was in the hall, just a few doors down from our room, and on my way to breakfast. It was around 9:30 AM. Here comes a hotel staffer making a room service delivery. In one hand he has two very large chocolate chip cookies on a plate. In the other he had a bottle of Penfolds! Penfolds and cookies for Valentine's breakfast! I wanted to grab the bottle from his hand to see if it was a Grange, as I was just floored at the idea of someone clearly getting such a very early morning and very expensive start on Valentines with a Penfolds, at that! (Mark that wine up to 3x to 4x retail prices for a room delivery at the Broadmoor, and I think you're in the range of what that bottle cost.)

The Travel Channel had a show about Vegas high-rollers in which they allege that a high-roller once requested Cristal Rose to be poured into his corn flakes, for breakfast.

Seems a bit farfetched to me.

Petrus and Coke was apparently a chic thing for the very rich in Hong Kong. I am unsure I could hold myself back from pounding out anyone I saw drinking that!

Personally, my aunt loves red wine but tends to water it down. I forgot she did this and handed her a big glass of 1998 Dead Arm Shiraz which she then proceed to add about a cup of cold water to. Very disturbing!
