We get in the 22 ounce bottles here, and the 9% alcohol sneaks up on you though.

The beers of Deschutes from OR have recently become available here in IL, to a lot of hype. I got to try 4 of them on tap today at a local pub. I can't recall the exact names but I really enjoyed the white IPA and porter.

I picked up Deschutes Red Chair Northwest Style Pale Ale at Binny's recently and really enjoyed it. A lot of good buzz around this stuff. All six packs are $8.99 at Binny's during January as they push this beer into our market. You can also mix your own 6 pack.

I had my first Hopslam this weekend. I liked it, but don't think I'll be buying more at the price.

You guys will be happy with anything Deschutes makes. One of my go-to producers. *********** I don't always drink beer...but when I do...you'd better just stay away from me, okay?

I'm pushing for us to get grub and drinks at Goose Island on Clybourn this coming Saturday before we head to the Flogging Molly show at the Aragon. If someone else is driving, I'll plan to get at least one of their Belgian-styles on tap.

Goose Island Sofie. I prefer the Pere Jacques, then Matilda more than Sofie. They are all excellent though.

Dude, ain't that the truth! You and I both know that anything even close to, "...Honey, are you sure that's reduced enough?..." would result in instant death. Recently: Port Brewing Wipeout IPA (from 22 oz bottle) - very good, would love to try on draught. Cheers!

Yesterday at lunch. All on tap: * Deep Ellum Darkest Hour (pretty good, finish a bit weak for such a big beer) * Left Hand Fade To Black Vol. 4 (nice black ale with just enough IBU not to overpower) * St. Feullien Triple (A bit lightweight, lemons dominate) Joe ----- Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.
