When are you going to drink it? If it's now I think the LLC or the Shafer. The 03 Bdx drank well on release, although I can't say I had an LLC from 03 yet, not would I drink one for another decade or so. I wouldn't touch an 04 Cheval Blanc for at least 15 years.

This is a hands down, easy choice for me! I think the Shafer Hillside Select is the best choice! Why? For one thing, I'm still on the waiting list for HHS, but really, most Cali Cabs can be enjoyed far earlier than their Bordeaux counterpart, and 2004 was a lesser vintage in Bordeaux and the Shafer HHS was outstanding in 2004, and, as grossie mentioned, it takes a long time for the LLC to come around------

I'd go for the LLC, but like grossie and latour said, it'll need serious time. It's a great value compared to the alternatives.

Just one more sip.

I am leaning towards the LLC, it seems like a solid buy.

The bottle is for cellaring, and there's no way I'm popping any of them within 10 years.

Berno, make it easy on yourself and buy them all. Drink the '03 now and lay the other two down for awhile. Big Grin

The Cheval-Blanc, easily. The HSS probably is the best tasting wine out of that bunch but the Cheval has that something extra. It is something special to add to the cellar, HSS seems mundane in comparison.

Personally, my nod would go to the Cheval Blanc (that's a great price).
LLC follows closely as a 'back up'. Wink

Yep, forgot to add, it will be much harder to find a Cheval-Blanc for that price in the near future than it will be to find an '04 HSS for under 250.

Likely very true.

Honestly, I thought I got a great deal buying C-B from PC for $204 over a year ago and have never, until now, seen a price that low since.

I'm torn, now.

I might do a coin flip, now.

Get the CB, flip it pronto, and buy the other two.

Give me a dollar...NO, the $20!!

I'm only buying one bottle. I'm teaching a class, and am getting paid in cash.

The prices above are in the Canadian Monopolies. Don't expect those prices in the U.S.

CT shows the WB average is about $322. Higher price, surely, but not quite 'flipable' yet, IMO.

Hold it and enjoy. C.B. is quite special indeed.
