For a long time I used a traditional waiter's corkscrew. I do fine with that, so I never really looked for a fancy wine opener.

But then for being in a wedding, I got a Trudeau TruLever. This is the best thing since bottled wine! I cut the foil with a foil cutter... Grab the bottle with the Trudeau, down-up... I'm done. Full control of the bottle at all time. Cork is dumped effortlessly from the Trudeau with another down-up. Fastest opener out there.

The rabbits use basically the same concept, but are entirely inferior because they require you to put two hands on the rabbit parts... neither of which has a direct grip on the bottle! You have to keep the bottle on the counter and carefully control your motion and grip on the bottle to avoid having the bottle shoot out from below the rabbit. And in my experience, they break all the time.... even the expensive ones.

Screw-pulls work alright, but all that manual screwing takes so long! Cork-pops seem to take a while.

What do y'all think? I believe that if you try a Trudeau, you'll never go back to anything else.

For those I've convinced, I have found a relatively cheap new version of the Trudeau available at T.J. Maxx! I don't remember for sure, but it was like $35 instead of the usual $60+ for the original version.

My only complaint is the foil cutter that comes with it... It doesn't have enough depth, so the cheapy plastic foil cutters you find everywhere are preferable.

And no, I don't work for Trudeau! ; )
