Has anyone ever heard of, or tried Bergweiler-Prum? Opinions?

Isn't that the same estate as Dr. Pauly Bergweiler (Zach. Bergweiler-Prum Erben)?

As this thread got revived, a good opportunity to review my list. This is what I posted earlier as favorites:

quote:
- Egon Muller
- JJ Prum
- Robert Weil
- Muller Catoir

In the meantime I've been drinking much more German wines (also thanks to Pfalzman!) and have a slightly different view:

1. Joh. Jos. Prum
2. Willi Schaefer
3. S.A Prum (because of their stellar 1976 WS Auslese and the very good '05's)
4. Van Volxem (great terroir wines)
5. Kruger-Rumpf (for the Spatburgunders, those are phenomenal)

Honorable mentions go to: Weil, Egon Muller (a pity that it's so incredibly expensive), Heymann-Lowenstein, Wegeler, Studert-Prum, C.H Berres

As a gleeful novice in the German Riesling arena, I easlily cast a vote for J.J. Prum and Christoffel. Although I have tried over 20 rieslings in the last 6 months or so, I will be conservative with any other votes until I know what the hell I am talking about. Not enjoying the Troken wines too much. Mosels all seem to be good lately (2005). There are so many delicious choices. Drink up and enjoy.

Top 5, based on availability:

JJ Prum
Monchof
Weingut Johannishof
St. Urbans-Hof
Dr Loosen

Would be somewhat different during my time in Germany.

For me it is (in alphabetical order):

JJ Christoffel
Donnhoff
Müller-Catoir
JJ Prüm
St. Urbans-hof

Several others have also been amazing - especially the recent tastings of 2005's. Keller and Markus Molitor have been great in 2005. Yet I'm holding out on producers where I've only had a few bottles.

While I do enjoy them very much, I just don't have enough experience in this area to start picking favorites.

I'm new to German wines, but so far I've really enjoyed Dr. Loosen, Willi Schäfer and Grünhäuser. I'll be looking to try more producers in the coming months...

Anyone try any of the wines from Dr. Heidemanns? WS just recently released positive reviews on the 2007s.

Never heard of them before, so thoughts would be appreciated.
