I'm new to Bordeaux and saw the three bottles below and picked them up at Costco. Were they good choices? I always look for values and hope they fit this criteria.

How are these three?

2005 Chateau Pouget $32
2005 Chateau Corbin $28
2005 Saintayme $16

Yes good prices, and the Pouget is usually very hard to find. I'm hoping the new store in my area will have these when it opens next month!

Make the drive down to Tustin before its too late. You won't regret. The shipment came in Thursday. Perhaps there's still some left. Aaw, forget it. I notice you're in Texas.

A guy came and took all the 6 bottles of Pavie Macquin. I didn't know that the release price was $200! So today, I went to the Mountain View, CA store and bought all the 12
bottles that they have for $82.99 per 750 in their OWC. The only significant 2005 Bordeaux I have bought!

Unfortunately that's also true in the PNW Costcos. I keep hearing about all this great stuff the So.Cal. stores get in. Sauternes, magnums and such. We rarely ever see that here. Frown

Croix de Beaucaillou, $36/33 (WS 91)
Chateau Jean De Gue, $26/28 (WS 88)
Chateau Les Ormes De Pez, $35/33 (WS 88)

I picked up a mixed case, and I think that does it for 05 for me (already have Guiraud and Haut Bailly). It's funny, but this is the first Kirkland wine I've ever seen.

Get this - I was in a local Costco on Sunday and saw about three bottles left of the 05 Pontet Canet and was told by the wine manager that that was the last three bottles available. I left the store empty-handed. Odd circumstances brought me back to the same store on Monday (a day the wine manager isn't working), only to see 1.5 cases of the 05 PC stacked up like logs.

Anyone else notice a controlled supply system going on at their local Costco?

I've noticed a clerk or two with mis-information about what wines they have and/or what quantity. I doubt they did this intentionally.
